Scarless Incisions in Breast Augmentation

There are many different techniques that are available today to plastic surgeons that will allow them to perform an almost scarless breast augmentation.

One technique that some qualified plastic surgeons use is liposuction. This is performed on patients that need a breast reduction. Liposuction is the process of removing body fat and fat tissue with a type of vacuum. The plastic surgeon will need to make a very small incision in the breasts natural fold and the scar from that is tiny and will eventually fade over time. This procedure is said to have less recovery time than a breast reduction surgery and since it does not involve cutting of the breast nipple the patient will not lose any sensitivity to it. Once the fat is suctioned out of the breast and the incision is closed the skin around the breast will eventually firm up to the new size of the breast.

During a breast augmentation to enlarge breast size with the use of breast implants plastic surgeons can use a newer technique called TUBA. The incision made for this type of breast surgery is through the patient’s navel area. The breast implants are then channeled up to the correct placement in the breast. This procedure can be used with the patient and surgeons choice of placement and type of breast implant. The recovery time from having the TUBA procedure performed is said to be shorter than that of other breast augmentation procedure. The incision area that is made near the patients navel will eventually fade and the result can leave the patient scarless. The risks involved with the breast implant are the same as in any other procedure. Breast implants can rupture, leak or move out of place at any time. If this happens after a TUBA procedure has been preformed the plastic surgeon can not reuse the same incision and will need to opt for a different location for the cut.
